Attention: Adults 25 - 55
Now You Don’t Have to be a UFC Fighter to Train Like One!
Have you wanted to train in mixed martial arts but felt like:
- You may be out of shape, or too far “past your prime” to participate?
- You are in great shape, but have no prior experience in combat sports?
- You’d like to learn to strike, takedown, and submit an opponent - but know that you can’t go walking into the office tomorrow with a black eye?
- You can’t fit classes into your schedule?
- You would like to learn mixed martial arts, but don’t want to go to a stinky, sweaty gym full of a bunch of cocky jerks?
Well good news for you! I have created a mixed martial arts program for busy professionals just like you. Now you can learn all the great martial arts technique you see in the UFC, plus tap into the mindset of the martial artist so that you can get in shape, reduce stress, learn to defend yourself and your family, and discover the kick-butt-no-holds-barred mixed martial artist hiding inside you!
This Is Not Some Watered Down, Cheesy MMA Counterfeit
Learn to harness the highly technical skills from these martial arts:
Jiujitsu - Mastering the principles of Jiujitsu will teach you the “ground game.” Jiujitsu will teach you to control your opponent with techniques like the guard, the arm bar, and the triangle. In the UFC, we most often hear about Brazilian Jiujitsu. Brazilian Jiujitsu derives from Japanese Jiujitsu, or Jujutsu, which was the hand to hand fighting system of the Samurai. In today’s world the biggest difference between them is Jujutsu is practiced as a self defense martial art including defense again striking techniques, while Brazilian Jiujitsu is a sport where competitors work only on grappling skills. For maximum effectiveness, our program combines both.
Taekwondo and Kickboxing - It is impossible to survive in today’s mixed martial arts world without heavy hitting stand up skills. We combine elements from Taekwondo and Kickboxing to teach you to use your feet, shins, elbows and knees as deadly weapons. We teach powerful Taekwondo kicks as a means to counter, and get from the “outside” to your opponent. We use the devastating Kickboxing techniques to strike with our legs, knees and elbows while in close. Each style has its merits, and you will enjoy wailing on pads and bags after a long, hard day at the office.
Judo - Judo is an Olympic sport that uses pins, locks and submissions - but emphasizes powerful, fast takedowns. It is an excellent way to “uproot” an opponent on the attack, and take control of the encounter. The techniques of Judo are based on the principles of ju yoku go o seisu (gentleness controls strength) and sei ryoku zen yo jita kyoei (maximum efficiency and mutual benefit in all endeavors).
Kenpo Karate and Boxing - Most mixed martial artists today train their punches with the centuries old skills of western boxing. Some, most notably Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell, couple that with strikes from Kenpo Karate. Kenpo teaches you to punch in combination from confusing angles, and also incorporates different strikes not found in boxing, such as the backfist and hammerfist.
Here's the best part. This program will enable you to learn these skills in a safe way. Remember, you are training with people just like you - not professional mixed martial artists. You will be able to have all the bumps and bruises that, admit it, you kinda want to show off - without the black eyes and broken bones that would keep you from going about life as usual.
Plus, we offer a flexible schedule that even the busiest pros can work with. Because we are a full-time, professional martial arts school we are open from about 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. There are classes 6 days a week, at varying times - and you can always meet an instructor any time for one on one training.
BUT, BUYER BEWARE
Before we continue I want to seriously warn you. There is one thing I can not stand about today’s mixed martial arts culture. Disrespect. I do not like the trash talking, the “mean mugging”, the glory hounding disrespectful attitudes of mixed martial artists featured on television. As a lifetime martial artist, it sickens me to think that this could become what society at large thinks a “martial artist” is.
It will not be tolerated in this school.
We train in a helpful, positive, and friendly environment. Even though we are training in mixed martial arts we still embrace the customs and behaviors of traditional martial artists. In fact, martial artists have been using strategies of respect, discipline, focus, self-control and courage for centuries to give them the edge in battle and in life. In fact, I would go so far as to say that learning these values is actually the point of training in martial arts. The kicking and punching is just a vehicle to take you to greater self awareness.
We won’t just be showing you how to dominate opponents, we’ll be unlocking these powerhouse mental skills in a way that can be applied in daily life. You won’t have to train long to see that technique and values are not separate ideas, but are in fact intimately connected.
Listen to what two of our students have to say:
“It Has Taken Me To The Next Level”
“The foundation of this school is rock solid based on the basic premise of respecting one another. The Academy of Taekwondo has challenged my physical abilities in all aspects. I have had many years of sports/athletics and this is a very humbling yet rewarding experience. It has taken me to the next level.
I have been one to study very hard in career endevours and this a new avenue to test my mental skills. I truly enjoy learning something completely new and different. It will always challenge and reward you!

“No Other ‘Exercise Class’ Talks About or Teaches Respect, Patience, and Perseverance as Part of Its Intrinsic Values”
“Training at Dan Vigil’s school provides motivation and direction to improve mind and body together in practical ways. Instead of just running a certain distance in a certain time or lifting a certain amount, the goal of achieving perfection in a technique requires focus of mind. So the mind is trained too. The whole body and mind is engaged. Along the way you happen to learn some self defense.
Also you are in class with like minded people who form a support group for your success.
And no other “exercise class” talks about or teaches respect, patience, and perseverance as part of its intrinsic values.”
Donn Douthitt, Design Leader Intier Automotive Seating, Magna Int.
Ok, But Will I Have the Chance to Compete?
In several ways. For the very serious student, there are amateur MMA competitions. These are often not well regulated, and can sometimes be dangerous. However there are many other opportunities to compete in the fighting sports that are very safe. We can arrange boxing matches as well as, Judo, Jiujitsu, and Taekwondo tournaments. If competition is in your blood, we can bring it to you - and help you be victorious.
Competition is 100% optional.
Alright - I Might be Interested. What Now?
Take advantage of our FREE introductory package - “test drive” our program to see if it’s right for you at no cost or obligation. It includes:
#1 FREE Lessons ($89 value): Work one on one with one of our black belt teachers. We will begin unlocking the secrets of mixed martial arts, as well as teach you the etiquette of our school. It is an excellent way to figure out if training in this program is right for you, and begin to acclimate to our beginning group class.
These lessons are just 15-20 minutes long - easy to fit in your schedule, but gives you a chance to get to know your teachers, and see some of the kick-butt, no-holds-barred MMA you’ll be learning.
Class 1: Picture yourself training one on one with one of our black belt instructors in these key areas:
- Understand the 5 distances of fighting: Just learning the basic concept of what techniques are possible at each distance will not only help you understand your own techniques, it will shed a whole new light on watching MMA.
- Introduction to Striking: earn 3 principles of body balance that will enable you to double your punching and kicking power. Also, how to make a good fist, and what areas of your foot to strike with.
- Etiquette and terminology: We’ve found that finding out where to stand, and what the “terms” of martial arts training are ahead of time helps our students to relax and enjoy themselves more in the beginning group classes. You’ll get a good feel for what’s going on in a low pressure environment before you join group class.
Then, Class 2: Already you are noticing subtle changes in the way you feel on the mat as you work on:
- A quick review of all the Etiquette and Terminology.
- 3 ways to see an attack coming before it’s in your face. You’ll be surprised how simple it is to learn how to read an opponent. For centuries top martial artists have been thought to “read minds” and know what an attacker will do before he does it. In truth, mind reading has nothing to do with it… there are “tells” and we’ll be teaching them to you right from the start.
- Introduction to Grappling: Learn 3 principles of leverage that will enable you to control your opponent. In this second lesson we’ll give you a look at some easy to learn takedowns and submissions.
Starting now you can begin a new life as a healthy, stress-free, totally fit
Mixed Martial Artist!
And if you call now, you will also receive,
#2 FREE uniform ($49 value): Our MMA students train in a school t-shirt and pants. These are yours to keep whether you choose to enroll in classes or not.
#3 FREE student conference: Sit down one on one with me, to discuss your goals, and see just how the “Dan Vigil’s MMA Program” will help you reach them. I’ll answer any questions you have, and lay out the developmental process you will undergo.
All of this is offered to you at absolutely no cost or obligation, and actually at my own personal expense. I’m that confident that once you try our introductory program that you will want to enroll as a student.
